About 625 LAMP Linux developers from around the United States will converge on Saturday, November 7 in Franklin,
TN.
The event is to learn more from innovative companies that will share their field reports about the latest developments in LAMP
offerings and implementation.
This is the 1st broad open source integration event in this area. There was a Red Hat Summit in recent years.
If you're already a Linux platform developer, or if you code for Apache, MySQL, PHP, Python or Perl, the
Enterprise LAMP Network will be your destination for resources involving the LAMP stack and addressing its
readiness for enterprise use.
In this tough economic environment, businesses need reliable, secure, highly functional and scalable Internet
applications, yet CTOs face intense pressure to develop these powerful systems on the leanest of budgets. Even in
2004, options for accomplishing these business goals were limited to well-known proprietary offerings.
Few high-profile technology leaders trusted open source software to provide viable resources for the demands of
a large-scale enterprise.
LAMP has transcended its origins as a stack strictly comprised of Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Python and Perl.
For those that don't know what LAMP stands for:
L - Linux Open Source Internet Enabled Operating Systems.
A - Open Source Internet Application Servers.
M - Open Source Databases MySQL
P - Open Source Internet Focused Programming Languages.
So there you have it.
Because of the maturity, the security and the scalability achieved in particular by the LAMP stack,
and because of the certification and support offered by a solid array of providers, we believe that LAMP has
proven its ability to provide performance that CTOs at the world's largest enterprises can rely on for global
deployment.
Because of all these software and hardware advances, observers believe that Enterprise LAMP will become a
mainstream choice for enterprise use. The Enterprise LAMP Network is a year-round resource of both high-level
strategic information for technology decisionmakers and highly technical information for coders about developments
across the LAMP spectrum.
Some of the planned resources include:
1) Rotating critical commentary from industry leaders.
2) Aggregation of news content about LAMP topics.
3) Podcasts.
4) White papers.
5) Tutorials.
6) Product announcements.
7) Case studies about enterprises that have switched to LAMP.
8) Information about LAMP users groups and forums.
9) Opportunities for IT companies to reach Linux developers.
The address and how to get there can be found below.
